What is LED light therapy?

LED light therapy uses light at specific wavelengths to repair sun damage, correct signs of aging, balance oily or acne-prone skin and diminish post-acne scarring. LED light therapy is found to give a feeling of relaxation and well-being during and after the treatment.

LED light therapy is a non-invasive, non-thermal treatment that works to stimulate the body’s own natural process to help counteract the effects of the sun, aging, and environmental toxins without pain, heat or risk. The light is comfortably positioned over the face and or entire body using a wand, face panel or body bed. During the treatment, light is absorbed deep into the cell and stimulates intracellular energy transfer production for enhanced cell vitality and permeability, increased production of new collagen and increased turnover of collagen and elastin fibers, and oxygenation. LED light used at specific wavelengths also successfully targets and neutralizes the acne-causing bacteria in clogged pores that result in acne and inflammation. Following your treatment you can go right back to your normal routine without redness, pain or irritation.

LED light therapy is clinically proven to reduce pore size, improve skin tone and texture, reduce wrinkles, acne scarring and diminish age spots. It can also be used to enhance results from invasive procedures such as Botox or fillers. It is found to not only enhance but to greatly reduce erythema, swelling and healing time when used immediately following IPL, Fraxel, Edge Systems Hydrafacial or laser treatments. Following a single LED light therapy treatment, visible changes are subtle. However, unlike other treatments where the effects are short lived, LED light therapy continues to rejuvenate and repair the skin for eight to 12 weeks after the treatments have stopped. Results are cumulative and will produce quicker, more visible changes when done in a series of eight to 12 treatments within four weeks.
